Oulton Abbey – Listed building modernisation

Work has already started on this £100,000, 13-week project which involves SCC converting four rooms in the abbey to create three bedrooms. The abbey is a listed building, and, therefore, comes with listed building regulations. SCC has, once again, demonstrated its ability to renovate rooms in a beautiful, historic building, while retaining key, original features in line with exacting national standards.

Water Street – 12 bed refurb

SCC has won the contract to refurbish No. 2 Water Street in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The building, which used to be Berwick’s Solicitors, is being converted into a 12-bedroom High Multiple Occupancy (HMO) dwelling. The project will take 20 weeks to complete, and includes the building of a new gable end and a totally new roof.

Barlaston – Usb installed in shower

The scaffolding is down and work is nearly complete. Painting and decoration has finished. External facia and guttering have been installed, along with new electric gates. Inside the home, a luxury, bespoke, solid oak kitchen – with exquisite, granite tops – is now complete. Work has also finished on the bathrooms, including one with a USB point in the shower, so the owner can listen to his favourite music while he showers! Another example of how SCC can make clients ideas a reality.

Wynnes Cakes – Roof gardens in

The construction of the shop is now complete. At the rear, at Flat No.1, bespoke bay windows have been installed and decoration is complete. The adjoining house, No. 7, is now 60% complete. Work on fitting the stairs is about to start. Garden top roofs have also been built over No.7 and Flat No.1.

Farnham – Quality recommendation

The client is so delighted with this project, he has recommended SCC for a new project in Battersea, London. Working with the client, we prepared a detailed ‘snagging list’ to ensure that every last detail was to his complete satisfaction. The project will be completed on13 April 2012.

Doctor’s Surgery – Data cabling installed

Karndean laminated flooring has been fitted throughout all areas, and data cabling has been installed. Everything is on schedule, and the project is nearing a successful completion.

Alsagers Bank – Emergency Call Out

We were called out to an emergency when high winds brought down the exterior wall of a house at Alsagers Bank in Staffordshire.

Our structural engineers assessed the damage and Scot Hay Road was closed. Work is now in progress to rebuild the wall making appropriate structural changes to make sure it is now safe.

Swindon – Commercial Warehouse Refurb

This is a 16-week, £1.1 million commercial build project at a 150,000 sq ft industrial distribution centre, owned by Norcross Group Plc. The work involves turning the building – which is so large you could fit six football pitches inside – into a three-storey office complex. SCC will also be responsible for roof and skylight repairs. The project had to meet approved construction line regulations. SCC has £10 million public liability, which further influenced the decision to award them the contract.
